COVID-19 Update April 15, 2020

Sisters & Brothers, most of you will already know that a tragedy occurred today. A little after 11 o’clock this morning, a bus driven by an ATU Brother contacted a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a 69-year-old woman, died at the scene. We are deeply saddened – for everybody.
Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family of the deceased woman. I cannot imagine the depth of their loss. May she rest in peace.
We are equally devastated by the trauma that our Brother must be experiencing. If you know him, reach out. Gently. We are all in this business together and together we will carry on, but for today, be kind. We all need it.
The investigation of this event is incomplete at this point. More will be shared as it progresses.
Shifting gears before I go, I want to bring you an item of good news. Our Sister who was maliciously coughed on a few days ago in that awful incident has been tested – and she tested NEGATIVE for COVID. We have not heard about the Transit Peace Officers who were also exposed to this threat. We expect that they will be tested negative, too.
Tomorrow, I’ll bring you detailed news from our various workplaces. For today,
Be Safe, Be Healthy, Be Apart
In solidarity,
Steve Bradshaw
