All members should know that some of their benefits premium rates will change soon.
Use of the major medical and dental plans was high and expenses exceeded contributions.
Major medical and dental premium rates will increase to reflect the high usage rates.
Life insurance premiums rates will remain unchanged.
The premium changes will be reflected on employees’ July 12, 2022 pay advice. At the same time, changes will also be made to the premiums paid by the City.
Changes to the LTD rate, reflecting the recently ratified collective agreement will be announced soon. It’s anticipated that this will be a meaningful downward adjustment. Stay tuned!

Cost Share
Note that the City pays 75% of the total cost of the Major Medical Plan and 70% of the total cost of the Dental Plan.
