Yesterday the City announced that there will be a city-wide review of ALL City departments.

As a result, ALL City employees who operate City owned vehicles and equipment will undergo retraining. This also includes management and is mandatory for ALL City employees.

The retraining will consist of a ride along with an instructor, which will be followed up by a written test the following week.

The retraining is meant to be proactive and positive to continue helping our members be the best and safest in North America.

Again, I want to reiterate that the Safety Review will be conducted in ALL City departments.

The Union supports the City-Wide Safety Review and believes that any additional safety tools offered to our members to help them possibly avoid a terrible incident or accident is beneficial.
