On May 17 the Union met with the City of Edmonton’s Director of Benefits Dana Daniel and Great West Life to do an annual review of the LTD fund.

Unfortunately there was a huge increase in the number of recipients in LTD benefits. The number of members on LTD rose from 108 on December 31, 2016 to 127 on December 31, 2017.

It is our hope that this trend does not continue, however, to keep the LTD fund sustainable the premiums will increase from 2.25 % to 2.5 % effective June 24, 2018.
