After a day of mediation, ATU’s Red Deer Negotiating Team reached a tentative agreement with the City of Red Deer. It’s a 2-year deal for 2021 and 2022 and does not contain a general wage increase. However, the Union was successful in negotiating language that will contain the drifting off of full time jobs to part time and reverse that flow. Also there is new contracting-out protection for full time employees and an increase to paid pre-trip time and coverages for the Drivers’ medical.
Members will vote on the deal this Wednesday, February 02. If it is ratified, City Council will consider it at their meetings on February 27.
